South Cumberland State Recreation Area

The South Cumberland State Recreation Area (SCRA) is a unique park within the Tennessee park system as it combines separate natural areas, trails, state forests, and small wild areas within one management unit. Its headquarters and visitor center are on U.S. Highway 41 between Monteagle and Tracy City, but the different units include land in Franklin, Grundy, Marion, and Sequatchie Counties and total over twelve thousand acres of beautiful, ecologically diverse land. SCRA’s most visited units include: Sewanee Natural Bridge; Carter Natural Area; Hawkins Cove; Grundy Forest and the Fiery Gizzard Trail; Foster Falls; and Savage Gulf State Natural Area. The units feature hiking trails and picnic facilities.
